Suspended Amazon Account: How to Prepare a Plan of Action Amazon Can Accept

If Amazon has suspended your seller account, the Plan of Action is your formal answer. We explain its structure, the evidence to attach and the most common mistakes.

If Amazon suspends your seller account, the usual way to ask for reinstatement is a Plan of Action: a written response in three parts (root cause, corrective actions already taken and preventive measures) backed by evidence for the specific reason for the suspension. No guide or adviser can guarantee that Amazon will accept it; the decision is Amazon’s.

What to check before writing anything

The costliest mistake is answering fast with a generic text. Before writing:

  1. Read the full notice in the Account Health section of Seller Central and note the exact reason, the ASINs or orders affected and the date.
  2. Identify the type of case: account performance, authenticity or intellectual property, product safety, related accounts or verification. Each needs different evidence.
  3. Reconstruct what happened in your operations with data: orders, messages, refunds, suppliers.
  4. Do not open a new account to get around the problem. Amazon may link it to the suspended one.

Structure of a Plan of Action

PartWhat it should contain
Root causeThe specific failure in your process that caused the problem, explained without blaming customers, carriers or Amazon
Corrective actionsWhat you have already done, with dates and evidence (refunds, listing removals, supplier change)
Preventive measuresThe process changes so it does not happen again, with an owner, implementation date and a way to verify them

Write it short and specific to your case. A text that any other seller could send is usually rejected.

What evidence to attach by reason

  • Account performance: a timeline of the affected orders and screenshots of the corrected process.
  • Authenticity or intellectual property: supplier invoices and product traceability.
  • Product safety: technical documentation and compliance certificates.
  • Related accounts: documents that identify and separate each account.

Why a Plan of Action gets rejected

  • Generic content or text copied from a template.
  • Blaming customers, carriers or Amazon.
  • Missing supporting documentation.
  • Vague commitments with no concrete procedure.
  • A very long text that hides the root cause.

How long the answer takes

It depends on the type of case, the marketplace and the team that reviews it. Amazon does not commit to a fixed timeline; the only reliable figure for your case is the one shown in your Account Health.

When to ask for help

If the reason is unclear, you have already had a rejection, or VAT, invoices or company documents are involved, an outside review can stop a second attempt from inheriting the first one’s errors. At Data Biz we review Amazon seller account cases: we prepare the documentation and the response to Seller Performance, without guaranteeing the result. Frequently asked questions

Can I appeal more than once? A new Plan of Action can normally be sent after a rejection, but each attempt must fix what failed in the previous one and not repeat the same text.

Can I keep selling in the meantime? It depends on the type of suspension. Check your Account Health for which functions are blocked and whether funds or inventory are affected.

Do you guarantee reinstatement? No legitimate adviser can. Reinstatement depends on Amazon.
